Signs of aging skin can be caused by different aging processes: photoaging and/or chronological aging.

Chronological aging is a natural biological process in which the body's cells lose their ability to divide and renew themselves. The natural aging process involves a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin and other proteins that give the skin elasticity and firmness, as well as dryness of the skin due to a change in skin pH. Photoaging , on the other hand, is an aging process that is associated with long-term exposure to sunlight. Ultraviolet rays cause damage to the skin structure, which manifests itself as wrinkles and pigment spots.

Chronological aging is a natural process that cannot be stopped. However, there are many ways to reduce photoaging:

  • Moisturizing: we recommend using moisturizing cosmetic products that help maintain the skin's moisture level and improve its elasticity. Look for products that contain moisturizing components such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, urea, squalane and others.
  • Uses of retinoids : Retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A that can help stimulate the production (synthesis) of collagen and elastin in the skin, improve skin color and texture, and reduce the depth of wrinkles.
  • Skin exfoliation : This is the process of removing old, dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and replacing them with new, healthy cells. As we age, this process slows down, so it is recommended to use cosmetics that are enriched with skin-exfoliating ingredients such as AHA, PHA and BHA acids.
  • Sun protection : UV rays can worsen the condition of the skin and accelerate the aging process. Try to use a sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
  • Consume plenty of water and fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins, especially A, C, and E, which help maintain skin health.

Remember that aging skin is a natural condition and is completely irreversible. However, proper care and a healthy lifestyle can help maintain skin health and elasticity. In addition, skin care professionals can perform a detailed skin analysis and recommend an individual skin care strategy.
